		Vet Shortage and Impossible to Find TNR There is an acute shortage of vets in California,and nationwide, detailed in this study done by UC Davis. As such most Bay Area shelters have had to severely limit or even suspend their TNR programs. At the same time private vet costs have risen sharply. To help, the state recently approved expanded vet telehealth services, and along with other government and private agencies are working towards alleviating the situation through assistance and other programs.

Scratching

Cats Scratch. (And shed, but that is a different topic). Overall, cats are low maintenance pets. So it is easy to provide the few things that they need to be happy and healthy. A place to scratch is essential to a cat's well being. They need to scratch to stretch, to shed their outer claw layer, and to scent their safe areas. A scratching post and cardboard scratcher are two popular, inexpensive, cat scratching choices.
