Vet Shortage and Impossible to Find TNR
There is an acute shortage of vets in California, and nationwide, detailed in
this study done by UC Davis
.
As such most Bay Area shelters have had to severely limit or even suspend their TNR programs.
At the same time private vet costs have risen sharply.
To help, the state recently approved
expanded vet telehealth services
, and along with other government and private agencies are working towards alleviating the situation through
assistance
and
other programs
.

Litter Box
Kittens do not need their moms to teach them about litter box use, they just
know.
What we need to set up for them is big litter box with unscented, clumping litter that is cleaned once a day. Multiple cats need multiple litter boxes, as some do not like to use a box that others have already soiled. The box should be is a quiet area where they can go without being disturbed.
